Are Chiropractic Adjustments Safe?

I’m Dr. Robert Bergeron, and this is my son Dr. Dustin Bergeron, who usually does the Wednesday Wellness Video.

One of the questions that we get asked a lot is: How safe are chiropractic adjustments? Well in short, they’re safer than just about anything else you can do for any kind of pain that you might have.

There was a study done over 64 years over 20 million people, and there was a .01% risk of complications, and most of those were muscular soreness, which could be even from working out. But sometimes when you move things around, there’s some soreness.

Another study showed the difference between a chiropractic adjustment and over-the-counter medication for pain, Tylenol, Advil, you name it. There was a 400 times higher risk of complications from over-the-counter medication than from chiropractic adjustments.

Now some people really don’t like to have their neck adjusted, so there are other ways to do that. One of them is what we call the ArthroStim. Now this is a little impulse instrument that very lightly moves the bones, and it frees up the joints so that the nerves coming out between the joints can be freed up and you don’t have the associated problems.

So I’m going to do is adjust Dr. Dustin right here, and show you how easy this is. We can do this up and down the entire spine, and free up the areas that are restricted, and it is very, very comfortable. Most people love it. How did that feel?

Good, yeah.

Yeah. It’s as simple as that. So if you have any more questions, give us a call at the Denison Chiropractic Clinic.
